Founded
The fund is named for its founder, Prithiv Ghosal. We founded it in 2015.
It is part of Lancaster Economics and Finance Society, at Lancaster University Management School.
May 2025
Roses
In May 2025 the fund won a stock-pitch against York’s Griff Investment Fund at Roses. Jack Poole, the fund manager, led the Lancaster side. Judges included professionals from firms such as Jefferies and BlackRock.
2026/27
Student Capital Invitational
The fund is entered in the 2026/27 Student Capital Invitational.
03The week
During term the fund meets on Thursdays. Each sector team pitches an investment to the rest of the organisation.
Between meetings, teams work through the numbers and the case they want to present. Members value companies and look for a reason the price is wrong.
That valuation work is the sort often left until the third year of a finance degree.
04The teams
Seven equity sector teams cover the portfolio. Recent pitches have come from Technology, Telecoms, Staples, and Power & Utilities.
The quant team sits under the Lancaster Ghosal Fund. It is a separate team and operates on its own.
