01 — Recruitment
Terms of Service.
Applying, verifying an email, booking an interview, and accepting an offer.
02These terms
These terms apply when you apply to the Lancaster Ghosal Fund, when you verify an email address for an application, when you book or change an interview, and when you accept an offer.
Ordinary browsing of the public site is covered by the general terms at ghosal.fund/terms.
Published on 6 October 2026.
03The fund
The Lancaster Ghosal Fund, also called the Ghosal Investment Fund, is a student society at Lancaster University. It is part of Lancaster Economics and Finance Society. These terms are between you and the fund.
The public site is ghosal.fund. Quant applications are made on quant.ghosal.fund (opens in a new tab). Interviews are booked, and offers are accepted, on interviews.ghosal.fund (opens in a new tab).
Only fund officers can use the fund’s officer tools.
04Equity applications
Until the end of Sunday 11 October 2026, UK time (Europe/London), ghosal.fund/apply sends equity applicants to an external application form (opens in a new tab). After that time, the page says that applications are closed.
The external form provider runs that form. An equity application submitted on it before the page closes remains an application. The fund may still refuse to take an application further.
05Quant applications
Quant applications use the fund’s own form on quant.ghosal.fund (opens in a new tab). Equity applications on ghosal.fund/apply close at the end of Sunday 11 October 2026, UK time (Europe/London). A quant role remains open until the fund closes that role.
06Email codes
The quant form sends a code to the email address you enter. The fund stores that application only after you enter the code. Entering the code verifies that you can read mail at that address.
Use an address you can read. The fund uses the email address on your application for the code, where a code is required, and for any schedule link or offer link.
07What an application is
An application asks the fund to consider you. It is not an offer of membership.
The fund decides who to interview. The information you submit must be true to the best of your knowledge. The fund may reject an application that is misleading.
08Interviews
An invitation to interview is not an offer of membership. If the fund invites you, it sends a schedule link for interviews.ghosal.fund (opens in a new tab).
You can use that link to choose a time, and to change that time, until the interview starts or a fund officer withdraws the link. After the interview has started, the link cannot move it. A withdrawn link cannot be used to book or change a time.
A booked time is a meeting. A place exists only when the fund sends an offer and you accept it on the offer link.
09Offers
The fund makes an offer by sending an offer link. You accept that offer only on the offer link. An email reply, another message, or attendance at an interview leaves the offer unaccepted.
The fund may withdraw an offer before you accept it on the link.
Acceptance takes up the place named in the offer. From then on, the society’s own arrangements govern membership. The fund promises no career outcome and no investment return.
10Closing a role
The fund may close a role, reject an application, or withdraw an interview invitation, including after you have applied or after a time has been booked. Withdrawing an invitation ends the use of the schedule link.
11No promised result
An application, an interview invitation, and a booked interview promise no place. Recruitment material promises no career outcome and no investment return. A place arises only when you accept an offer on the offer link.
12Published figures
Performance figures published by the fund, including on ghosal.fund/performance, are historical. Each figure describes the past period given with it. The fund does not put those figures forward as a forecast of future results, of a career, or of an investment return.
13Separate notices
Personal information is described in the privacy notice. Cookies are described in the cookie notice. A further page covers UK data protection. Requests about your information can be made on the privacy requests page.
Those pages stand on their own. Read them for what they cover.
14Changes to these terms
The fund may publish a new version of these terms at this address. The version on this page is the current version. The version in place when you take a step applies to that step. An application already sent, a time already booked, and an offer already accepted stay on the version published at that time.
15Law and courts
The law of England and Wales governs these terms. The courts of England and Wales hear claims about them.
You keep any right that the law of England and Wales says cannot be given up.
